Here is our list of family-friendly New Year’s Eve events in Niagara, including early fireworks, countdowns and celebrations for kids.


Free New Year’s Eve Show in Niagara Falls

Come and greet thousands of your friends at Canada’s most favorite Free New Year Eve Show in Niagara Falls! Ring in 2017 at Canada’s biggest FREE New Year’s Eve Extravaganza on December 31st 2016 at Queen Victoria Park. There are two spectacular New Year Eve Fireworks Displays that will take place at 6:40 PM and 7:40 PM (times may vary).

New Year’s Eve at the Americana Waterpark

There will be a countdown and balloon drop at 9pm at the waterpark. Here is a list of some of the awesome activities you and your family can expect every half hour at the Americana on December 31st: Duck Races, Swim for Gold, Colouring Contests, Hula Hoop Challenge, Under Water Swim Challenge, Craft Times, Football Toss, Noodle Toss, Bingo, Cory’s Kids Club, Glow in the Dark Arcade, Live Music (Boston Pizza), And Lots More!…

Boston Pizza (Americana) will also have a celebration and kids countdown at 9pm.

2nd Annual Kids’ New Year’s Eve Party at The Geekery

The Geekery will be hosting it’s Second kids New Years party!!! Cosplay is always encouraged!!!
5- 9pm Music and 9pm countdown!

$12 per child will include;
*party favours
*a mocktail to welcome in the new year *any choice off of our little Jawa’s menu or spaghetti and meatballs special
*DJ’d hour dance party with countdown from 8-9pm!

Children’s New Year’s Eve Bash in Welland

New Year’s Eve at the Vale Health and Wellness Centre in Port Colborne

December 31st, 2 pm – 6pm

Bring the whole family to the Vale Health & Wellness Center and enjoy complimentary swimming, ice skating, various games, Mad Science and cookie decorating. Stay and help us ring in 2017 with the outdoor Family Firework Display at 6:00pm (weather permitting).

Ring in the New Year with your family with these FREE activities:

Family Skate

11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Seymour Hannah Sports and Entertainment Complex, 240 St. Paul St. West

  • Join in the rock n New Years fun with DJ Tanner spinning top pop hits and your requests while you skate.
  • Craft table and colouring activities for kids
  • Party favours
  • Mock countdown and toast at 1 p.m.

Family Swim

12 p.m. – 2 p.m.
St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre, 425 Carleton St

  • Join DJ Marinko to ring in the New Year with top pop hits and your requests during the leisure swim.
  • Colouring activities in the lobby.
  • Party favours.

Grimsby New Year’s Eve Celebrations

December 31, 2pm – 5:45pm, Peach King Centre, 162 Livingston Avenue

Enjoy FREE indoor skating at the Peach King Centre, as well as outdoor skating, children’s activities, food and snacks.  An early New Year’s celebration with fireworks takes place 6 pm.

Free New Year’s Eve Skating Party at the Thorold Arena

December 31, 2pm – 3pm

On Saturday, December 31st, the Canada 150 Committee invites everyone to join them at the Thorold Arena for a free skating party.  Get a party hat and enjoy some hot chocolate while you skate with family and friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A countdown will happen at 3:00 p.m. to help ring in the New Year!
